We have been toying with a scoring idea in our league, need feedback.
This newly contemplated rule would allow for the designation of a Power Player for the week.
Here is how it would work. Each week, every Owner has the option of designating one player on their roster as their "Power" player. If the designated player scores 15 or more points in the week, then his points are doubled in the Owners overall score for the week.
If that player scores 14 or fewer points, then the players points are set to 0 for the week, negating whatever he did.
So basically the team that has LT wins every week.
No offense, but I don't like this idea. The best players in the game can put up great point totals on a week to week basis. I can't remember the last time LT didn't score under 15 points (I'm sure that it happened sometime last year, but it doesn't happen often). This would only give the players with the first picks an even bigger advantage.
Kudos to Leber for the amazing sig and to Metroid for the userbar and making them both fit 2008 and 2009 Defunct Dynasty League Champion

Thoughts?
This just puts more luck into the game. If you like that, then go with it. I prefer less luck.
ADMIN edit: please note that the overall sig limit is 12k - thanks! (Thanks Leber) AIM is like multiplayer notepad
I don't like it either, more luck like skillbrett said.....you could do some variation of it like each player can only be selected once in the whole season, so there is some strategy of choosing the right matchup?
Thanks to deluxe_247 for sig, he is welcome to sail with the Captain too! I will win all of the fantasy cafe games.....next year
Peyton Manning might actually be worth a first round pick in that format. Seriously, you dont adjust that by position, it skyrockets every QB's value. Also, its worse than most bonus point formats. I like the aspect of luck, but I like having some control over how my team does, this makes it a lot more luck.

This is a nice way to do it, I believe. I doubt any fantasy software on the planet support scoring this automatically, however.

Yes, we are looking at this option as well, although considering it independently of the Power Player idea.
