vetoable trade?? WHIR

Postby AEMRICH » Fri Sep 14, 2007 10:55 am

Hey guys i'm the commish in my league and i just had a trade going through that got vetoed. 12 team h2h PPR, re-draft
clinton portis and matt hasselbeck
for
Edge James

i really don't think this trade is veto worthy. I think i was getting the better end getting Hass and portis but not that it is an awful trade.

Nowhere near vetoable. You need to protest to the commish.

You know it isn't a vetoable trade when I have to ask this:

Which side did they think was getting the great deal? I can honestly easily see benefits for both sides, especially if Hass was 'expendable'. He gets a RB which was likely undervalued in the draft (since Wisenhunt may have actually taught the Cards how to run the ball), for two guys past their fantasy prime...Portis, even if healthy, may not get 70% of the carries, and Hasselbeck obviously is not the same QB he was a couple years ago. Even before his injury last season, he was not playing well and doesn't appear to be any better this year. 2 slightly above average fantasy players for 1 potential, but not certain, stud RB. I don't see the problem at all...

Well, Portis is a lot better than a "slightly above average fantasy player," I don't know how anyone can legitimately veto this. Sucks, sorry.

This is the reason that my league went to commish veto, last year my league vetoed everything where the O-ranks didn't exactly matchup, not taking into account needs at all. I don't think it is vetoable, but it sucks that your league thinks as mine does

If this is a league that you are in year after year and you do well most of the time. This is a "get-even" vote against you and nothing more. Take the high road and beat them all into submission anyway.

Good luck getting anyone to trade in your league. The league will vote down every trade now, especially since this one got vetoed.

This is the main reason why NO league should be set up like this. All trades should be reviewed by the commish.

The only reason a trade should be vetoed is if there is collusion......that's it!

As the commish, you have the ability to override the veto and change the players of the teams. Your leaguemates should be aware of the grounds for vetoing, and as the commisioner, that is your responsibility it is known throughout.
