His lone TD last year was against Chicago, so I wouldn't worry about him against good Defs. He was a talent that Miami wasn't capable of properly utilizing; he's a whole new player in New England and is already emerging as Brady's go-to guy.
I'm not claiming he's an elite receiver, however. He'll probably have a few 5-catch, 30-yard games with no TDs, but the Pats are such a scoring machine that he should be worth a 3rd receiver slot unless you have incredible talent at WR.

Another double digit scoring night for Welker. The Patriots outplayed the Chargers badly today but Welker was impressive regardless of the blowout. He's looking more and more like starting material. I just traded Deshaun Foster for Colston so I'll have to decide who to play for my WR2 next week. Colston, Welker, Reggie Brown or Darrell Jackson. Tough choice. I may end up going Colston and Welker for WR2 and Flex or Colston and Brown [depending on what Brown does tomorrow night]. I am seriously impressed with Welker's potential. The guy gets open and catches everything.
Wes welker is a PPR monster(wr2). And a very elite wr3 in normal leagues. He will not score tds very often, but will get 5-10 catches a game, and 60-100 yds a game. Wes is not designed to score the tds in our offense, he is their to get the first. Moss/TE/Backs are the td magnets.
thnx madaslives911 fo the sig! you da man!
Ochenta y Cinco! Who?

Ocho Cinco Biatch! O ok.
Thanks Wes...another solid outing in my ppr league (17.7 points) Wasn't sure if I made the right call starting you over A. Green but you beat him by 4.6
The guy is going to be a solid #3 all year, and could put up #2 stats on occasion. People in return yards leagues need to start him weekly, as the confluence of decent WR stats plus return stats make him quite valuable.
I got him in a return yards league in the seventh round of a Keeper league this year, and I’m stoked to have him once again.

+1
Welker was available in the last round so I had the choice of him or Warrick Dunn. Took Dunn. However, I regretted the choice all that night and sweated out the waiver period to grab Welker as a free agent. Looks like it may pay off since we are a return yards league and Welker is performing better than many of the WR2 or Flex players. The only thing I was worried about was Moss and Stallworth grabbing all the receptions but it looks like Welker is getting his share.
I'm hoping he has a big game against Buffalo and Boldin sh*ts the bed against Baltimore so I can rob a guy in one of my leagues with a Welker for Boldin move
Of course, with my luck I might end up being the one who is robbed by this deal in the end

LOL! Luck is a big part of FF. Skill helps but luck usually wins.
In PPR or Return Leagues he's gonna be a solid WR3/Flex option, but I've been saying that for a while now. Troy Brown put up some nice numbers in the slot for the Pats, in large part because Brady likes to throw to the slot. No reason I can think of why Welker would be any different.
The scary thing is if they can get Stallworth more involved, making defenses more worried about him going over the top to either side. The middle of the field will be wide open all day.
