will my maroney/MJD combo come back to bite me?

Postby sadlyajetsfan » Mon Sep 17, 2007 11:07 pm

i understood the risk with the weapons the pats have and that mjd wasnt the starter. i know its only 2 weeks in but they seemed to be overvalued a bit, i just wanted to get some views on them because i may try and trade one or both if need be

I think you can get away with them as a number 2 right now, but I would try to use another part of your team to upgrade rb.

I wouldnt push the panic button yet. I kinda in the same boat as i have MJD on two of my main leagues as my #2 back. The kid is talented and will get more carries/opportunites. Remember, he didnt start off as a monsters last year either.

MJD was waay overvalued IMO. I would not have touched him before the 4th round. He is basically like Reggie Bush light. And Reggie Bush was overvalued.

No way is any RB who is not starting worth any draft pick before the 4th round.

I drafted Marion Barber in the second round. I'm very happy.

I'm not sure what you are happy about. You drafted a guy in round 2 when his ADP was late 4th or early 5th.

It does seem MB will be the feature back at some point but you missed out on some serious talent while reaching for MB in round 2.

MJD was by far the most overvalued RB in fantasy this year and it doesn't appear the Pats have alot of faith in Maroney right now. Maybe they are easing him in due to his shoulder.

I wouldn't feel comfortable having MJD as my #2 back. Maroney should be a decent #2 if they start giving him more touches.

our league is 10 man and only pays out top 2 so i was thinking boom or bust theres no reason to go for a safe team thats why i wanted MJD. do you think julius jones or norwood would be a better start over him until he starts picking it up? i dont really want to push the panic yet and trade him because i was pretty high on him

I'm happy about his production. I could care less about ADP. Guys like Thomas Jones, Ronnie Brown, Brandon Jacobs, and Cedric Benson all had higher ADPs than Barber, and I'd take him any day over the likes of them.

not to help switch the topic on my thread but i think he means you couldve gotten a great 2nd round pick and mb wouldve still been there in the 4th. his value should be at lowest 3rd rounder by the end of this year but you didnt get as much value as you coudlve gotten
