Check out these stats points for defenses. Unbelievable. He changed the stats this year from previous years, and then drafted Chicago Defense in the 2nd round. They scored him 42 points week 2.
Yeah - most of us didn't pay that close attention to the defense stats, that's our fault. But shame on him for changing the stats from previous years, not telling anyone what he was doing, then drafting a good D in the 2nd round to take advantage of it.
Basically, the killer is the return yards, and sacks s/b 1 point. If a Defense gives up a TD, they then get that back in return yards. San Diego gave up 38 points last week and scored 16.8 points in our league.
Am I wrong to be jacked about this? BTW - I'm 2-0 so I'm not bitching because I'm losing.

The problem here is not what the D settings are (even though I think the return yards are a joke), in fact we score 5 points for a safety and 9 for a D/ST TD. The BIG PROBLEM is the scoring system change without letting anyone know. Personally if I was in your league, you would not see me next year. Things like this is what separates the boys leagues from the mens leagues.
In a way its kind of funny though. I can just see everyone making fun of him drafting a D in the second round when all along the joke was on you all!, lol

Yeah, any commish who doesn't inform the league of rule changes doesn't deserve to be commissioner. Nothing you can do this year, but next year, either get everyone to vote him out or just leave the league.
Kudos to Leber for the amazing sig and to Metroid for the userbar and making them both fit 2008 and 2009 Defunct Dynasty League Champion

I disagree, if you are playing a money league it's up to you to know the settings, it's not like the commish changed the settings week2, as it stands you signed up and joined this league, caveat emptor.
I can understand being irritated if this is a longtime league that has always had the same settings, but the Commish is playing by the rules, next year the league should vote on the format. In my big money league this year, the settings for the first time ever gave 1PT per 10 return yards, and many of us missed it, the players who did their homework drafting guys like T McGee and C. Carr for IDP spots are easily making double the points out of the bottom of their lineup vs typical IDP players, these managers are being rewarded for good draft preparation, while the other managers are directing their frustration towards the league settings/changes - I can imagine that is a typical feeling from people who were unaware of the settings, but to me it seems unreasonable.
1) Any league that doesn't vote on scoring rule changes made from year to year is a joke.
2) The Commissioner is supposed to make sure fairness and integrity is adhered to in all decisions, he's not supposed to be making sneaky scoring changes that could have a BIG impact and not notify the league. Pretty lame.
