Ive always targeted Bulluck and Edwards - 2 guys who you know will be top 10 every yr and yet come cheap enough on draft day that you can wait a few rds before grabbing your D players.
I used to target Bulluck and Edwards, but they just keep getting older I start to worry that they will just fall off the map or get injured. I'd say the best is Shawne Merrimen.
A.J. Hawk and D.J. Williams are a couple of other ones (although Hawk's off to a slow start) that are young and should post solid IDP numbers for years to come.

Lofa Tatupu is off to a hot start (he's #2 in the standings in one of my leagues - Thomas Howard is #1 with the help of his touchdown), Lance Briggs is playing like he really wants that bigger paycheck next year, Mike Peterson is healthy this year and his numbers are good, DeMeco Ryans should be able to move up into the top 10 in a few more games.

I don't think you would get a huge argument by saying Ryans, Bulluck, Thomas, Urlacher were the first 4 off the board this year. I think Bulluck and Thomas are consistently top 5. Ryans, who knows, he was drafted based on one year. Lofa should likely be a consensus top 5 next year and was very close to a top 5 pick this year.
