Should I use two receivers from the Patriots?

Postby tbjon » Fri Sep 21, 2007 8:45 am

For the past two weeks i've had Randy Moss and Chris Cooley , TE , Redskins. Cooley has been bad, so Ben Watson, TE , NE was by far the best available TE. Is this advised against to start both Watson and Moss? They have both been solid so far.

The argument against 2 receivers from the same team goes one of 2 ways: 1). If that team has a bad week, your team suffers. That's a real argument... but I wouldn't worry so much about the Pats having a bad week anytime soon. Sick. 2). That means you're dividing your looks between 2 guys, since they have the same QB. This is a logically flawed argument, as you're not choosing Ben Watson over Reggie Wayne or Antonio Gates. You have a WR and a TE, who get the looks that they're gonna get. If you used Crumpler or Heap, they're still going to get the looks they're going to get. It's just not going to be Brady throwing the ball.

It's like that whole argument against having Wayne and Harrison, because the looks are divided between the two. By that logic, you don't want either, because if you only have one or the other, the looks are STILL divided between the two.

In this case, I think it'd be safe to start Watson and Moss.

I wouldn't hesitate to use those guys in my starting lineup at this point. Moss has been on fire, and Watson has a TD in each game. I would hope for that kind of production from a TE.

I would use them both. ;-D

Good luck.

I'm using Moss and Welker. Yeah you're dividing looks but it's Brady vs Buffalo, each should have plenty.
