Need Help with Owner Dropout

Hey, all. We need help with what I'm sure is a common situation.

We had a guy in our league refuse to send in his $20 to commit to continue to play in our league. He has a pretty good team, featuring Peyton Manning.

Is the best way to proceed:

1. To bench all of his players and give everyone who plays him the rest of the way a win? OR...

2. To have the commish play his team fully and let the wins and losses fall where they may (if he makes the playoffs, then his opponent would get a bye) OR...

3. Let the league redraft his team's players. OR...

4. Some other option we haven't considered.

Get the entire league to agree to this first, and then have his team be "auto managed" based purely on these rules:

1. Use a predetermined weekly Player Ranking column on the internet to decide who starts.* That way there is no arguing about who should start each week on the abandoned team.

2. NO trades allowed with this team

3. The team is not eligible for the playoffs

Then, go find the quitter and beat the snot out of him.

As an alternative, find someone else to pay the $20 and run the team.

Or, just find someone to run the team for free but they can't win any prize money.

An independent owner would be the best route to take, if you can find one.
