What does the other person's team look like? What are your's and his records? Those all play a factor into whether this is a reasonable trade or collusion.
Your league is retarded. I understand why you would be pissed.
Even if I thought it was OK to veto "lopsided" trades (which I don't, unless there is collusion involved), that trade is totally justifiable.
Sure, Ben has looked pretty good, but Branch is a marquee player as well, and went way earlier in most drafts than Ben. You league sucks. Next year get into a league with experienced players, and established rules on what constitutes a veto.
There have been many threads on this very subject in the "Football Leftovers" forum, which will only further validate your anger. Sorry dude.
Best advice I can give is to get into a real league next year.
Assuming C. Johnson is Calvin Johnson, the deal makes sense. That shouldn't have been vetoed. It was likely more of an intimidation of a top team getting stronger that caused the plug to be pulled (& that should not be grounds for vetoing a deal).
Honestly I don't think the respective rosters even matter when it comes to this trade. It's clearly not collusion based on the mid-level players involved. Depending on the rosters and league scoring format I wouldn't even say it's lopsided (not that I would veto a trade for being "unfair" anyway). Sorry, but it looks like you're being hosed here.
Unless you know everyone in a league and trust them to act responsibly trade vetos should never be based on a leaguewide vote. In my experience it's way too prone to abuse by douchebags who can't stand the thought of other owners improving their teams.
I agree with everyone else- based on his team, that trade should have gone through. Did your league give any reasons for why they vetoed it? I can't think of any except what someone already said: they didn't want a strong team to get stronger.
I once played in a league where the QB scored just about all of your team's points potentially because there was so many points given to yardage and tds and not enough taken off for interceptions and fumbles.
However, normally there are a bunch of haters in the league that will vote for that reason alone. They know they can vote without being seen. At least when you write to the editor of a newspaper, you must leave your name. This crap has happened to me as well, and to make matters worse, I was in a league with family and close friends.
My bro-in-law can kiss my butt! Fantasy Football destroys brotherhood, story at noon.
