Peyton Manning

I am a newby to FF and I did the typical history on players before the draft...I went with Peyton Manning in the first round...fifth pick...I thought I did real well...I am just seeking opinions as to whether or not he is settling in as a real even keeled performer and we won't see those "historic " point explosions or am I being overly concerned with his point production so far?? Any thoughts?? Thanks

he's not going to put up record-setting numbers like he did with the 49 touchdowns, but he will still put up a consistent 250+ yards and 2+ touchdowns per game.

i don't know your scoring system.....most of the time i would disagree with taking peyton with the 5th pick of the first round, that is pretty early for him....imo if i really wanted peyton i would wait till the second round to take him, i'd rather get a stud running back first.

but peyton will still give you points, so it's not the worst pick in the world, having him means you don't have to worry about your quarterback situation

I rate Peyton in as the ninth or tenth best player in Performance Leagues....so you didnt kill yourself. It reallymatters what you did after that though. Peyton may be your most consistant point scorer every week.

Peyton in the first round is a hot-button issue. Most will agree that the 5th pick is too high for him though. However, it looks like the league you're playing in is rather...ahem...

Well, let's just say that if you were able to land Parker towards the middle of the 2nd and Mcgahee towards the middle of the 3rd that you should be fine going against the *ahem* "competition".

Your core of 3 guys looks quite solid. This is what you should've expected out of Peyton when you drafted him, so there's no real cause for concern.

Lets us know how it works out for you. I have read more than one thread lamenting the drafting of Manning in the first and how those teams never win titles. You did real well with you RBs Who are your WRs?

I like to take RBs in the first.

But, you can't argue with production. Manning produces, and consistently. You can say a lot of good about taking a RB in the first round, but it's hard to build a case specifically against taking Manning.
