Of course mocks run differently. but if we can get a group of guys together that is willing to meet on a mock drafting site once a week. we can keep the mocks updated. I/we/someone could write on some movers and shakers in the mocks as well. If we can get 10-12 guys that can find 30-60 or so minutes for a quick mock once a week, I would have no problem updating and writing on it weekly. Would this solve that problem?

if i'm not banned by then, count me in.

You always manage to make me smile. :-b

You were one of the posters I missed during my hiatus. Not that you care.

BTW, I'll help out too. The sticky running back thread was great. I think we should have a sticky thread for every position and then have each player ranked for that position link to it. That would be a lot easier and more efficient than giving each player his own page, but would essentially accomplish the same thing.

of course i do. it's good to have you back. i missed you being around while you were gone. not that you care. :-D

What I meant was that each player listed in the rankings would link to their corresponsding sticky thread. For example, all running backs listed would automatically link to the RB sticky thread. WRs to the WR thread, etc... Giving each player a link to his own page probably wouldn't be feasible considering time/personnel constraints, but linking directly to the position sticky thread would provide the user quick access to some of the most valuable info on the site and would make them that much more likely to revisit.

I can't imagine have those 6 links (qb,rb,wr,te,k,d) would be a problem in the rankings table/article. It would not be difficult at all. It might also be a nice gateway for those new to the site to get hooked into our forums and join our community.

Wow guys that is a really great idea.

I'd be interested for sure. Have no idea what my schedule's gonna look like but I've been finding and making time for the cafe for over 3 years now and I don't expect nor will I let it change! :-D

Like I said, If we can get a solid group to do it each week, I think we could make it work. I did a lot of fantasyfootballcalculator.com mocks this last offseason. It takes an hour or so usually, depending on the drafters. The coding and writing might take a bit each week. If it's just a small write up on movers and shakers, that would be simple. However, I think it might look better to do a small write up on each player and edit when new things emerge concerning that players fantasy status. Either way, I don't do anything... all day long, every day... I lead a very boring life.

This seemingly useless thread has now turned into one of the most useful threads on the whole Cafe. :-b

More mocks in the offseason = sounds good to me. ;-D

Organized regular mocks = sounds even better. ;-D

Either way, sounds like a good idea. :-)

Question about the sticky threads though. Where exactly would they go? Stickies/Announcements clutter up forums. Not sure 6 additional stickies would be a good thing, but I'm listening :-) .

Something else, more content in general in the offseason would be a good thing, so if anyone has ideas, feel free to formulate the whole thing and pitch it when ready. Not just rankings, but sleeper writeups, articles, reviews, etc., and we're more than happy to publish new and fresh content up on the site. Even moreso in the offseason when it's slow. ;-D

Interesting thread and seems quite productive. :-)

Oh, and as to traffic, yes, there was a very small drop (compared to last September), but it was so tiny I'm quite surprised anyone really noticed.
