I know, I know. Marvin Harrison is a stud, and likely the best WR on your fantasy team.
But I am not starting him on my team.
He is going against the best pass defense in the league, not to mention Champ Bailey. And if you look at Harrison's numbers against the Broncos with Champ ... well, they are not so good.
I know those may not be enough numbers to make a sound judgment, but they are not particulary impressive either. 14 catches for 121 yards and 1 TD in three meetings ...
So I am going to start Plaxico and Chambers this weekend and take my chances. Anyone else benching Marvin for better options?
I understand the reasoning, but I'm not sure I agree with the decision.
Champ Bailey is the ultimate shut down guy, but he is human. If he makes a mistake, he will likely be all alone on Harrison.
I'd go with Harrison, if for no other reason than he is the only one of the three (Harrison, Chambers and Plaxico) that has Peyton Manning throwing to him. Plaxico could go off this week, but then again, Eli could tank and leave him out in the cold.
Can't fault that reasoning, with the emergence of Anthony Gonzalez and Clark scoring in the last two games, Peyton certainly doesn't have to force it to Marvin.
I'd be very worried, but my opponent's running backs are Steven Jackson (hurt), Deuce McCallister (really hurt) and Ladell Betts (bye week). Which means I'm going against the Bears' Adrian Peterson and Michael Pittman.
Marvin vs. Champ honestly couldn't have come at a better time for me.
They should stick champ on Wayne imo cause im facing him this week But I believe the Broncs are giving up like 90 yards a game passing or something absurd like that...
I think you are over analyzing a bit. Match ups are important but with top players, it's tough to sit them over lesser talent no matter how the latter has produced in the short term. I would go with your best players and hope they produce because if you are wrong, then you could miss out on a huge game.
