Why are ppl protesting this trade?

Tony Romo, Dal QB
Larry Johnson, KC RB
Braylon Edwards, Cle WR

for

Travis Henry, Den RB
Chad Johnson, Cin WR
Matt Leinart, Ari QB from

This trade has been protested by a few teams in our league already and I don't agree. I am the team getting Romo b/c my QB siuation is horrible (Leinart is essentially a throw in b/c I would have dropped him anyways). The team trading Romo already has Carson Palmer which is why he is moving Romo. Leinart was going to be dropped anyways so it is more or less a 3 for 2. One owner came back saying that Henry + CJ for Romo + Edwards would be a fair trade. I would be stupid to do that trade but that gives you an idea where my league is coming from. I was hoping for a few opinions from 3rd parties that I could share with the league. Is this in anyway vetoable? (This is a keeper league - top 3 players)

Here are some of the things those people are probably looking at.

1. Where you are in the standings.
2. Where the other guy is in the standings.
3. How much this is improving either team.
4. If this trade makes you or the other guy, way too good.
5. A lot of people still think LJ will bounce back.
6. Romo is proving to be a stud.
7. You are getting 3 healthy people who CAN be great.

Either way, your league is lame for protesting it. I feel like if a legitimate trade is offered, it should be accepted by the league. Everyone has their opinion on why they make trades and none of us know most of those reasons. Call the people in your league little wussies and get that trade made.

For what it is worth, you are getting a WAY better deal than the other guy.

Thanks for your help

I think the trade favors whoever is getting Romo, but would I want to protest it?? Probably not. I would just tell the guy who is getting Leinart in the deal that he is not smart. Unless he has another good QB....

People in your league are protesting the trade because they are fearful of another team improving. There is no need to protest a trade unless there is cheating involved. This trade may favor you, but that is not a reason to protest. It should be kudos to you for getting it accepted. Tell your league to stop whining! If they want to manage your team, tell them to pay your entry fee next year.

Also, post this link to your league and have them come check it out. They will realize how ridiculous they are being for protesting this trade.

I agree: trading outcomes should be left to the commissioner, as long as he handles himself with integrity. Note: Are people protesting because of the Henry suspension possibility?
