The following trade was vetoed

Postby slowride » Thu Oct 04, 2007 3:25 pm

It reached max objections from the league, and was subsequently vetoed by the commish:

Javon Walker and Julius Jones

for

Marvin Harrison and Brandon Jacobs.

Should it have been rejected?

First off, your league is terrible for having a league vote on trades. Leagues should be set up to have the commish approve trades, not the league. People get trigger happy in leagues set up like yours because they don't want other teams to improve. Those types of leagues are communists and you might as well not allow trades because every time a trade is accepted, people hit the protest trade button.

The trade may favor one team, but as long as there is no collusion (cheating), the trade should NOT be vetoed. It is not up to other owners to manage your team. If I were you, I wouldn't join that league again next year. Find a real league to be in! ;-D

I like the Harrison side better, but no veto.

Yah that trade should not have been veto'ed. I've learned to not give the league the power of voting. Commish should reign supreme.

Trade should not have been vetoed. I disagree with the commish having final say. Let the leaague vote on each trade, but you need to limit the amount of vetoes a person can have. If you give a team only 3 -5 vetoes a season, you will not see peole veto trades like this.

That is kind of a cool idea, I've never thought of it. I still like having a trustworthy commish, with the possibility of a trustworthy co-commish to keep him in check

I agree the trade shouldn't be vetoed but disagree in giving someone the Mountain Landis power that some people promote. We vote on every trade in our league. 12 teams and it takes 5 "nay" votes for a veto. It's called democracy.
