I play in a 12 team NFL.com league which I like a lot 3 div. 4 players each. Div. champs make playoffs with one wild card (best record non division winner).
We start
1 QB
2 RB
2WR
1 TE
1 K
1 Def.
Only thing I'd like to change start one flex either 3 RBs or 3 WR.
Tried a 14 man league, and it was very difficult to grab guys off the wire(if there were any). I also tried 8 and 10 which were allright.(too many good teams with an 8 man league)
The way to go for me is 12. Competitive, but not overly so.
I wouldnt play in an 8 man league, the competition just isnt the same. Its too easy and a player with knowledge or skill, doesnt get rewarded the way he would in a larger league. Personally I like 12 man leagues, but as was already mentioned, you dont want to have to start 3 RB's in a larger league.
So I guess I vote for the 10 man option

Is an 8 team league even fun? Any know nothing/do nothing owner can walk in, draft off a cheat sheet, and win the league with their team.
I'm in a 12 team dynasty/auction league. I'd say 12 teams is the ideal size for a league. 3 divisions, 4 teams each. Each team can play division rivals twice and everyone else once in a 14 week season balancing your schedule.
I'm also in a 16 team draft league. This is for the serious competitor. You have to do your homework, because a magazine draft sheet will be useless by round 10. The art of picking sleepers is HUGE!
