Top 5 RB from here on out...schedules considered.

nice thread. fun debate.

I like:

1. LT--has to be #1, coming on strong
2. LJ--very nice schedule coming up and they are starting to feed him the ball
3. AP--how can he not be on everyone's list. have you seen the guy play, regardless of the defense.
4. FWP--always solid at the end of the season, consistent performer, nice schedule.
5. Westy--only if he stays healthy, but if he does, everything goes through him. can score 40 FP any week.

SJax is a pipe dream. That team is DONE. He's not going to have a year, LET ALONE be a top 5 back from here on out... he's not playing this week... so "from here on out" he's still at least one game behind anyone else you can name. So if he's not back next week (which I don't think many people expect) then he's got the bye week... so "from here on out" there's a running back you'd like who has a MAXIMUM of 6 games, vs several great starters (such as FWP) that have better teams, better schedules, and NINE to score in? That don't make no darn sense, brother.

It would be different if we were talking about a guy known for putting up freakish numbers, like an LT, with a team around him. But if this guy comes back, he comes back to a cast of walking dead, with no real hope for the season. Steven Jackson is the guy you wish you traded right before the injury. He's dead weight on your rosters now, and when he comes back, he's a RB2 because of his team.

For all those who have FWP as a top 5 back the rest of the way, I completely disagree. He's a yardage machine, but his decline in touchdowns isn't just because of Najeh Davenport vulturing his touchdowns. The Steelers have scored 9 touchdowns through the air thusfar as opposed to 4 touchdowns on the ground; they are passing around the goal line much, much, much more than in the past, especially to the tight ends. I don't expect that to end any time soon, especially with the offensive line being inconsistent. Parker will put up great yardage totals, but I wouldn't expect him to consistently score touchdowns.

Not sure why everyone is so down on Ronnie Brown. THis week will speak wonders on how he fairs the rest of the year. He may not gain 100 + on the ground but he will catch no less than 8 balls. In PPR that is huge.

Also heard no one mention this yet, but when the Pats lock up their divison and homefield by the time they play the Dolphins next time we may see Ronnie running on 2nd string defense.

So I think we will see stats simialr to this for Ronnie this week against the Pats 75 rush TD 9 rec 55.
