So if Vince is ailing becase of the Madden curse, what curse is on Deuce McAllister. Marc Bulger, Jake Delhomme, Matt Leinart, Steven Jackson, Laurence Maroney, Larry Johnson (oops, cancel - that curse was just rescinded), Carnell Williams, Javon Walker, Andre Johnson, Anquan Boldin, Vernon Davis, etc, etc, ...
The Madden curse is as real as the tooth fairy. If any of the above players had been on the cover, they would have been considered "cursed", since they weren't, it' just normal wear & tear or plain bad luck. Those who believe in curses probably believe the Harry Potter books are non-fiction.
But by all means feel free to be superstitous and don't draft him under any circumstances and leave him for those of us who live in the real world!!!

I was going to come in and talk about how tired I am of people talking about the Madden Curse, people fail to realize that people are playing football not checkers, and injuries happen to EVERYONE, not just people on the cover, but its already been said plenty...

so do any of the ney-sayers in here knock on wood, have a pregame 'ritual' they go through, have a lucky handshake, lucky prayer, or have a pair of lucky shorts/underwear they wear when they play a sport (a la michael jordan), eat only chicken on game days (boggs), or has anyone in here had their favorite team pitching a no-hitter, but refused to mention it bc u didnt wanna jinx it? i mean i could go on for days with sports myths, curses, and superstitions, but at the end of the day, none of it is in the slightest bit tangible. infact, some are just ridiculous, but players/people do things for a reason, they do things/avoid things because somewhere down the line it worked for them and makes them feel better every time they do it... well for those of us who believe in the madden curse and have avoided those players, its worked every single goddamn year, and for that reason, we believe in the curse.

Dont forget to include, a terribly injury prone college player, at the most physically demanding position in all of sports

Dont get me wrong, i said i owned APete this season and im enjoying the run of him, literally and the run of his health, but IF, and thats a big IF he graces the cover of Madden, i will take his injury prone history into serious consideration and possibly pass on him in certain spots.

Also, lets not forget, two years ago, Shaun Alexander had a higher ADP than LT, was consistently going second overall to only Larry Johnson, and was also armed with an incredible offensive line and an incredible offense, coming off of a TD record breaking season, but he made one fatal flaw... he agreed to be on the cover of Madden... hasnt been the same since... this is as recent as you can get, he was as durable as anyone, he was as great as you can get, in the best situation you can get, and all of a sudden lost it... why? how? Madden Curse!!!!

I think what is real, is following a great season (and hence a madden cover appearance) players regress to the mean. Or perhaps after a heavy workload that lead to great stats, they get injured due to overuse. I think this is plausible. People can believe what they want though biju, and you can't exactly prove that it's not true.
