Frank Gore -- Where From Here?

He's been disappointing and mediocre so far for a pre-season consensus top 5 RB. How do you see him doing the rest of the year?

he's gonna keep disappointing owners because of the crappy QB play, teams will key on gore and will stop him. It also didn't help that Norv Turner left as offensive coordinator as he is great at developing young QB as we have seen alex smith develop and was playing well enough to open up running lanes for gore

Norv has been absolutely horrible in developing Rivers. The kid has taken about six steps backwards.

I think Gore's numbers will improve in the 2nd half of the season. NYG (11th), NO (14), ATL (24), SEA (18), STL (27), ARI (16), CAR (15), MIN (2), CIN (29), TB(21), CLE (30).

Numbers are the D rankngs for AVG Rushing YDS per game.

Two of his first five games were against PIT and BAL two teams he will not face again.

Alex Smith is recovering from his injury faster than expected.

Gore owners should hold onto him (check out weeks 15-17) .

IMO - he is a good buy low candidate

Final cavat - The Pro Football Prospectus predicted a good season for him and their track record is pretty good.

With Smith and Davis coming back D's won't be able to key on him quite so much.

I wasn't really so high on him that I'd have taken him in the top 5 like many did, but when he was there when I picked 9th I could hardly pass him up.

He runs about as hard as any RB I've seen recently - for whatever that is worth. I think he will tough out a solid enough season to keep in your lineup and contribute.

Oscar15 makes a good point about his schedule. 10 of 11 games are against some not-so-intimidating Defenses (to this point anyways). MIN is pretty solid against the run, but part of that ranking is because teams can throw on them.

well 2 weeks ago i gave up crayton,bowe and pittman and got gore and white...whatever happens i think i won that one...ill just ride him out the rest of the year

He's the only weapon worth fearing on that offense. Alex Smith has shown no reason for hope, and Trent Dilfer is Trent Dilfer. I wouldn't expect a turnaround.
