ESPN Playoff fantasy help??????

We have a 12 team league and I set the playoffs to 3 weeks and 6 playoff teams.
Just wondering how are the playoff teams decided. Obviously the 3 division winners make it, but then who else:
Option 1: Three wildcard teams e.g. the next three teams with the best record

Or

Option 2: The 3 divisional runner ups.

Does anyone know the answer??? Any ideas would help.

If you have it set to Division winners, then the remaining will be by record. They have the option of changing the tie-breaking options. This should all be spelled out in your league rules, however, because regardless of what the website does, you can manually override it to result in whatever rules your league abides by. For example, we have a 'Toilet Bowl' bracked which ESPN does not support, so we just notify the league of the bracket and manually set the matchups.
