Changing playoff schedule on Yahoo...

I'm the commish of a 12-team custom Yahoo! league. I checked our settings the other day just to review some things and noticed that our playoff weeks are set for 14, 15 and 16 for 6 teams. Now honestly, I don't remember picking that and would like at least 8 teams to make the playoffs. The option isn't editable, nor do I remember picking that, so is this just the default setting Yahoo picks? Is there a way to change it?

Pretty sure you can't change it on yahoo after the season has started (nor should you be able to, especially if your team will be one that sneaks in the 7 or 8 spot). Realisticly, I don't think you should have more than 6 making the playoffs in a 12 team league as it leaves too much to the final weeks of the schedule and allows half the league to make the playoffs at 6 already. In the NFL, you only get 12 of the 32 teams making the playoffs. Personally, I would have either 4 or maybe 6 make the playoffs (6 if you have divisions) in a 12 team league but I don't think more than half the league should make the playoffs - should the regular season really count for that little that only a third of the teams are eliminated by the end of regular season as opposed to the 60%+ that are eliminated following NFL regular season? The playoffs should be hard to make, not hard to miss.

agreed, but fantasy football is supposed to be fun, and i feel bad for the 6 teams who wont be in on the action for the last 4 weeks of the season. there's not even a consolation round.

Your choices for playoffs for 12-team leagues in Yahoo! are either 4 teams or 6 teams. There is no option for 8 teams. Period, end of story.

Canucks is right...the playoffs options are listed here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/football/scoring/football-67.html

However, I don't think one can change the playoff settings once the league begins - I couldn't find a link to do so in Commissioner Tools. So Triplec223 is stuck with 6 teams making the playoffs.
