Florida and Kentucky question??

Why didn't they allow Kentucky to try the point after attempt after they scored that last TD? The outcome wouldn't change, I know that, but I didn't think it mattered.

Same reason you don't play the bottom of the ninth in baseball, it wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game.

Sucks for people who bet on Kentucky to cover though...

Yep, same thing that happens in both college and the NFL when a team scores a touchdown to win it in overtime (in college it would be when the other team doesn't score or kicks a FG with their possession and you score a TD with your possession after that) they don't get to kick the PAT.

Unless the rule changed in the past couple of seasons, in the NFL, you DO kick the xtra point even if the outcome doesnt change. If the rule changed, does anyone know when? I've seen more than one game where the team was PO'd that they had to attempt/defend the xtra point when the outcome had been decided.

Right!! I thought that was the case in the NFL, but wasn't sure about college. Only in overtime, in NFL do they not kick the pat. As far as I know the rule hasn't changed!!
