I know I cannot drop a player today if he started for me today. I will have to wait till tomorrow. If I do drop him tomorrow and pick up a Jax or Ind player, can I start them in an empty roster spot tomorrow night, or will the transaction be delayed?

Uhh... I can't answer that with 100% certainty, but I don't think that if you pick someone up it will take effect for tomorrow... if you had another eligible player on your team that'd be ok to change but I think what you're asking about won't work. Again, I'm not 100% sure but probly 90%.

Not sure 100% on this, but if the player you dropped was started on Sunday, that spot is locked and another player cannot be inserted for Monday night. If the starting spot was left empty on Sunday, or a player that was on bye was there, then I think you can swap in someone who is playing in Monday night.

I would drop a kicker who played for me Sunday. I would pick up a WR to fill an empty WR slot for me tomorrow night.

You're right. Here is the relevant rule:

The deadline to complete all transactions (trades, waiver claims, and free agent claims) for a given week is 11:59 p.m. PT every Sunday.
