Halloween is in the rear view mirror, the costumes put away, but we can place a little scare into Derek Anderson, Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow Jr. fantasy owners: The next three games could make or break your fantasy season.
The Browns are a surprising 4-3 and all three players are among the top fantasy options at their respective positions. The tide turned when the Browns went to Anderson, who has thrown the second most touchdown passes (17) in the league, including six in the last two games in wins over cellar dwellers Miami and St. Louis. However the schedule is about to get more daunting and that could turn this Cinderella story into a nightmare.
Seattle comes to the Dawg Pound, followed by division road games at Pittsburgh and Baltimore. The relevance is not simply how the players will do in these games, but how the Browns make out. Two losses could put the division out of reach and three losses leaves the Browns at 4-6 overall. If the playoffs start looking like a reach, it would seem likely that the Browns give Brady Quinn a chance to see if he is a trick or treat. Even if it were the latter, it would be hard to imagine he would instantly have the chemistry with his receivers that Anderson currently enjoys. With games against the Cardinals, Jets, Bills and Bengals in weeks 13-16, the fantasy sky is the limit the way Edwards and Winslow are hauling in passes.
So if you own any part of the Browns high-scoring trio, do not just root for them this weekend, cheer for the Browns. Feel free to dress up like a member of the Dawg Pound if needed.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Browns could slap the franchise tag on impending restricted free agent Derek Anderson after the season.
Apparently, you still can do this, although it has not been done since 1999 when Terrell Owens was a restricted free agent after three years with San Francisco. The natural assumption was that Anderson would be tendered highly with the first- and third-round tags, but the franchise tender brings back two first-round choices if another team signs Anderson to an offer sheet.

That would definitely show a commitment to him as their qb if they do go with the franchise tag.

Brady Quinn could reportedly be shopped by Cleveland in the offseason.
Browns fans would love this. Atlanta, Chicago, Carolina, Minnesota, and Baltimore are named as possible landing spots for the former Notre Dame star. The Panthers and Bucs were known to be interested in Quinn before last April's draft. This is all assuming Cleveland extends Derek Anderson.

The only way I see them trading him is if they get some ridiculous offer, otherwise they'll franchise him and keep him another year and see what happens.

Amazing Oopah wrote:whoa, shopping Brady Quinn?? Anderson is having a nice season and all but I can't believe they are ready to throw all the eggs in his basket already
Yeah, I'm not completely sold on Anderson just yet. There's no doubt he has a big arm, but Winslow and Edwards have made him look better than he has actually played so far this year. He looked terrible in the second half of the Pit game last week. Having two QBs is a nice problem to have. It don't see how they can trade Quinn, it's not like he is an extremely expensive backup. If he was drafted inside the top 5 it would make a lot more sense.
