short and long of it is that americans love cheese. I don't really like cheese (I like some cheese like pizza, creamcheese, cheesecake, ravioli, basically simple not overwhelming cheeses like mozerella, ricotta, nothing like parmesean though.) I must not be an american because I don't like cheese.
I wouldn't agree with steak. There is a restaurant here that sells what they call a roadkill steak. Steak smothered with sauted mushrooms and American Cheese.

sounds like a great way to sell a mediocre piece of meat. I think most people would agree that the best way to enjoy a steak is marinade or rub it with something, wait a bit. Grill it. Eat it. Steak is something that cheese does not make it better. I might be biased.^^^^^^^
ADMIN edit: please note that the overall sig limit is 12k - thanks! (Thanks Leber) AIM is like multiplayer notepad

Best way, yeah, certainly better that way, but just pointing out that you can have a good steak with cheese. Maybe not the best, but its still good.

make it provolone, and that sounds like a trip to my favorite sub place, Penn Station.
I know it's also common to serve filets mignon with a blue cheese crust. A bit over-fancy for me, just give me a good cut of meat cooked to perfection and a kick butt cabernet.
It's not cheese but still dairy -- what's with the trend to putting butter on a steak after cooking? I've been reading it in recipes from higher end steak houses and seeing it in commercials for places like applebee's. If ya gotta butter a steak, am I wrong in thinking ya should have just bought a better cut?
Donuts (or basically any other breakfast pastry) Frog legs (at least I think, I've never had them before and don't plan on it) Doritos (and if the Nacho Cheese ones don't count, then say Cool Ranch Doritos) Do soups count? Garlic bread Any type of candy bar (technically not a dessert) Marshmallows (possibly not a dessert)
Kudos to Leber for the amazing sig and to Metroid for the userbar and making them both fit 2008 and 2009 Defunct Dynasty League Champion
