Does anyone believe JaMarcus Russell will play for the Raiders this year ? The way the other two QB's for the Raiders are playing this year I find it hard to believe they won't start him soon. Does anyone else agree? oakboys1

I would guess that if culpepper struggles than JaMarcus will see the field soon enough. And I would definitely expect culpepper to struggle behind that line.

I'd be surprised to see him this year. Maybe for part of a game at the end of the season.

raiders have a pretty tough schedule down the road KC, Denver, GB, Indy, Jax, SD..all have a very solid pass defense and I think coaches would want to give him a game that wouldn't shatter russell's confidence, but with the poor play of the current QBs and their 2-8 record and no chance of playoffs, I don't see why they wouldn't see russell in sometime to get him some experience. I think we will see jamarcuss russell in sometime this season

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports December 2 is the target date for Oakland to begin starting JaMarcus Russell.
Russell is reportedly down to a svelte 259 pounds after weighing 270 at one point in the offseason. A source tells Mortensen that the "light went on" for Russell in practice recently, and that Russell could start the final five games of the season. Daunte Culpepper is starting this Sunday. Russell will be the third quarterback.

Yeah, I read also that they're going to try and start starting him. I wouldn't expect much, if anything, from him though.
