I haven't really bought too much on ebay...actually only one item. I was wondering if someone here could help me out. I'm trying to purchase a new grille for my Impala and the seller has a "reserve price" which hasn't been met(if it's not met he doesn't have to sell it). There's only a couple hours left and I'm the high bidder and have been the only bidder for the most part. I guess my question is after the time runs out and I'm the high bidder will the seller contact me on whether he wants to sell it? I'd hate to send him a message early telling him I'll give him whatever his reserve is, he may just sell it for my bid. But at the same time I'm afraid someone else may have already contacted him saying the same thing. I guess my best course of action is just to wait and see what happens huh?

It sucks because they don't make NOS grilles for my model year so you have to find them refurbished and this one is very well done...they're really hard to come by.

If the reserve hasn't been met and the seller doesn't want to sell, then I think you get a notice from eBay. If he doesn't sell, you can try sending him an email to negotiate a private deal, I suppose.

Yeah I didn't know if the seller sent the notice or ebay did. I was thinking it would come from the seller. Either way I'll try and contact the seller after....man I really hope I can get it, they are extremely hard to find.

Well the sale ended with me as the high bidder but the reserve was not met. So I guess I wait and see if the seller contacts me. I sent him a message saying "Obviously your reserve was not met....where do we go from here?" We shall see what he says I guess.
