Kolby Smith = Brandon Jackson?

Should we temper expectations for Kolby Smith going into this game with Oakland? It is a money matchup for sure, but it seems this guy was almost cut by KC during preseason for being so bad and his numbers during the year aren't that good. Seems like Brandon Jackson all over again, who I wasted a something-round pick on.

K Smith: 10 rushes, 19 yards, 1.9 YPC, 7 catches, 62 yards
B Jackson: 50 rushes, 129 yards, 2.6 YPC, 13 catches, 95 yards

Is anyone risking playing him this week? Or is this a definite wait and see?

I might take the risk, because of the Oakland matchup. But I'm not sure.

If you need a back I would pick him up and start him this week. In all likelyhood Holmes isn't going to play because he reinjured his neck. I read somewhere that a re-retirement statement would be forthcoming from him. Smith is a good play this week against Oakland at home.

This whole thing just drives me crazy that I thought I had LJ insured by drafting Michael Bennett and having him take up space on my roster half the year..

I think Smith is a much better chance than Jackson just b/c it doesn't look like he has any competition right now, whereas Jackson always had to deal with Morency, Wynn, Grant, etc..
