Start / Sit Thoughts

Postby kashikis » Mon Nov 04, 2002 12:08 pm

Please take part in our poll to see when you (the readers) would like us to post the Start / Sit updates. We were trying to decide what was the best balance between getting you the information promptly and still having the latest up to date information included in the decision making. So please take a second out of your day to take part in the poll.

The poll is located on theCafe Homepage.

Thanks,

Cafe Staff

The Poll is now over but feel free to look at our Start/Sit List at the above link!

I voted but here are some thoughts

I would go for Wednesday night, and then update it if anything significant happens. Generally, if someone isn't probable by Wednesday, I don't start them anyways. With studs, you have to assume that the team will start them unless there's a good indication that they won't. Guys like Ahman Green and Drew Bledsoe tend to play unless they're in traction. That doesn't mean that they will play well, but it also doesn't mean that they won't.

To be honest I find the start sit section to be too brief. I wish you could have it encompass more players. Not a complaint, every bit helps after all and its all free, just a simple request.

Midweek is a good time to update, it gives FFL owners like me something to look at while the week grinds towards Sunday.

Thanks for all the work you guys do.

I think i agree with homless. The section is too brief. It doesnt cover barely any of the players that i think it should. But, homeless is right. Afterall, it is all free. I just wanted to say im with homeless on this one. Thanks to all the Fantasy Football cafe staff. Keep up the good work. ;-D

We don't take criticism personally (or I'd have bounced you !+) ), so no need to stress the "it's free" thingie...

But we do take positive critics personally and always have a party after reading posts like yours.

Not just personally, but seriously too...

I think Homeless and gavin256 are right: expanding the start & sit page slightly would make it more useful. Dan is looking at ways to do this, and this week's edition will presumably already feature a change or two.

As to the date when the start & sit list will appear, we'll most likely aim for Thursday afternoon/evening as a target. This seems like a reasonable compromise based on the voting so far; let's see how it goes.

This week's edition may not be up before Friday morning, incidentally, as we experiment with the changes. Please keep the feedback coming, and let us know what you think of this week's edition!

Hey guys, I definitely think Thursday is perfect, unless of course there is a Thur. night game.
Just about have to win out to make the playoffs. No problem!!!

I'd say no later then Wednesday. You need to know by mid week. Esp if there is a Thursday night game.

Good point - weeks with games on Thursday are definitely an exception.

Anyway, far more players are listed in the Start section this week. Let us know what you think - this is still a work in progress, but I like this change a lot. ;-D

By the way, the list is up already. Forget what I said about Friday morning... :-)
