I have a question for you CoDers. I've played the game and beaten it, but I'm no way addicted to it. Anyways, today I was playing with my brother and he killed me and said "I just cooked that grenade" and i looked at him and said "Wow, you really are a bundle of sticks." He retorted saying that "to cook" a grenade was to toss it just right or something. So i started grilling him with witty retorts "OH MY GOD, HE MUST HAVE GONE TO CULINARY SCHOOL BECAUSE I JUST COOKED THAT TO PERFECTION!" but anywas...Fact or Fiction?

yeah cooking grenades is a big strategy in the game. basically it means you pull the pin and hold the grenade in your hand for a longer amount of time so it detonates faster after you throw it. if you can get good at cooking grenades you can take pretty much anyone out instantly as they wont have time to run away from the grenade before it goes off.

if you want to try it out...hold down the RB button (grenade button) instead of tapping it. when you release it the button it will throw. be careful though...if you hold it too long it can detonate and kill you.

some people call it "priming" the grenade too.

Cooking a grenade is a miltary term... it is crucial to effective use of grenades in the game. I love throwing back "uncooked" grenades at the tosser and/or their teamates... nothing more satisfying

Actually, I think there is an elite skill for taking someone out with their own grenade.

lol pretty much everyone does at first. keep at it and you should come around fairly quickly.


as for the new maps...im kinda torn.

i like the broadcast level a lot...i see no problems with that one. creekside started off cool...but the more people play it, the more it becomes a sniper/camping fest...which really takes the fun out of the game IMO. the team that holds the house side really has an advantage. chinatown, the remake of a cod2 map...isnt my favorite. in fact, i really dont like it. everything looks the same, and its easy to get lost. people that played cod2 have an extreme advantage on it. lots of camping in windows, and im not a fan of having turret guns in such small quarters. killhouse isnt on hardly any playlists aside from cagematch and tactical...so i havent even entered it except to check it out in a provate match with friends. its ok...but not good for large groups. i think it would get boring fairly quickly.

all in all...im glad they released new maps, as the old ones are getting stale, but at the same time, im not that excited about them.

oh...and for those of you who dont know...you get double points on those maps this first weekend (a kill is worth 20 points instead of 10...etc.). not that it does me any good since i stopped prestiging.
