That's tough. He's only 14 so I don't think giving him this kind of control is the wisest thing to do, but at the same time, I might feel like the aunt made the mistake if she were to make this decision. Ultimately, I think the judge made the right call in letting the boy make the decision on his own.

I agree. I don't think you can force people to receive treatment.

There is actually a court case about that. They decided that they have the ability to refuse treatment, but not if it could endanger the child.

And that's it. Kind of sucks that a mother would willingly die and leave her newborn without a mother, but that's one of the many freedoms we have.
