Where does Wes Welker stack up against other WR's?

Welker was the best player on Miami's team last year. His stats don't show his true value. He kept them in games by making important catches. N.E. went after him because they couldn't cover him when they played Miami. He caused them so many problems they wanted him on their team. That also had the fringe benefit of taking him away from Miami.

Welker is the type of receiver who isn't flashy and doesn't get the 80 yd TDs. However, he is VERY important for getting necessary first downs and making tough catches when you absolutely need the yards. I'd put his value to a team in the top 5 WRs.

only problem with that, is that any of the other guys who are in the discussion could do those things too, it would just be patently stupid to put them in that role. The reverse for welker isn't true. (Yes, I know there might be an exception here or there. But think TO or Moss couldn't do that too? Ocho? Wayne?)
