This thread contains comments on Alison Derick-Northcutt's Article "The Key is IDP", which was posted in the Cafe's Articles section on December 1, 2007. The full article can be read here.
I think you meant Michael Boley(of ATL) ... not David Boley.
I have to start a DL every week in my main money league and I agree you on the importance of having a great IDP on a team. I have Patrick Willis on my team. I started Antonio Pierce for the first 4 weeks.
It is tough, however, to forecast who exactly can have a breakout game on a given sunday. For ex. James Harrison on the monday night game against Baltimore. Last week I got cute and dropped Patrick Willis for Nick Barnett just cuz of the fact that he was facing Detroit's pathetic offensive line and cuz of the fact Detroit was going to try to run a lot. Patrick Willis had the best game of his career. It didnt cost me the game though. So, I wasnt too disappointed. I picked him back up and dropped Nick Barnett and I am thinking of keeping Patrick Willis till then end of the season.
LOL, no we dont want serial killers on our team (or DO we?)
Seriously, though - thanks for the feedback - major OOPS on not spelling names correctly.
And I agree, tough to forecast who will have a great game and who wont from week to week. My thought was for future articles to focus on someone who may not be as obvious (in name) to some owners.
Funny how this article comes out and then I'm facing an unreal performance from one of my opponent's IDP players. Granted, I should still win this week , but here's the line:
LB: Lofa Tatupu: 11 tackles, 3 passes deflected, 3 interceptions for a total of 100 yards. Points = 26!
Highest scoring player on either of our teams or benches. Closest I got was Hines Ward's 90 yards, 2 touchdowns for 21 points.
IDP's make things more interesting in my opinion. And I'd still say that even if I was losing, I just wouldn't be in a good mood about it.
I am the Reaper of Men, The Chaser of Souls, The Weaver of Nightmares, I am The Heart of Darkness. I now, and ever will be, The Purity of Evil.
