didn't read through really any of the thread, just enough to see the better list, which is much better but I still think vai, satriani, petrucci and Dimebag should be a bit higher, just my opinion.
i'd love to argue on these topics all day and tell most everyone how wrong they are. but i'm freaking tired. i did nothing all weekend and it was exhausting. petrucci is climbing my list fast. portnoy and carey don't get enough love. i think bonham is overrated. moon is my favorite, but peart was the best.

Dude, I would have expected you to be on a first name basis with your peeps. Also, those names are a little mainstream for my tastes. You've got to throw in an obscure European guy or else people won't take you seriously.
