Here's a Survivor Pool question.
Our first one ended in week 10, with the remaining 8 people getting knocked out the same week (all took Saints over Rams).
So we started up another with this twist. Pick any team you want starting in week 11 with the normal Survivor rules (can't pick that team again). If you make it past the regular season, you start picking playoff teams. However, if you've taken all the playoff teams in the regular season, you're done because you have no one left to pick. Once the games get to the conference championship and super bowl, you can take any team you want again, because to get that far you would've had to take those teams to stay alive. It makes it fun, and interesting.
Anyway, my strategy is to get to the playoffs, and if that means taking playoff teams now, so be it. I look at it this way, New England, Indy, Dallas and GB are going to get 1st round byes, so I can't pick them in the 1st playoff round anyway. I'll save Dallas for that round, because they'll beat anyone else in the NFC that's left in the divisional round. For wildcard weekend, I'll most likely save Jacksonville, but maybe also Tampa Bay or Minnesota.
Here's the teams I've taken so far since week 11:
Philly over Miami 17-7
Pittsburgh over Miami 3-0 (the Heinz field embarrassment)
New England over Baltimore 27-24 (yeah, I'm playing with fire)
Green Bay over Oakland 38-7 (finally one I didn't have to sweat it out)
This week I'm thinking about taking San Diego over Detroit or Minnesota over Chicago.
Which one do you think?
QB - Dree Brees, Sam Bradford
RB - Knowshon Moreno, Addai, Beanie Wells, Brandon Jackson
WR - Randy Moss, Brandon Lloyd, Pierre Garcon, Kevin Walter, Lance Moore
TE - John Carlson
K - Jeff Reed
D/ST - New England, San Diego
