COACHES SALARIES

Postby Lofunzo » Wed Dec 12, 2007 7:00 pm

Does anyone know where I can find a list of what each NFL head coach is making this year??

Wow after about 15 minutes of searching I can say I came up with nothing related to coaches. Which I found rather surprising.

Plenty of articles of coaches signing extensions and the couple highest paid coaches, but no lists or anything.

One nice thing I came across that I'd never seen before is the USATODAY Player Salaries Database

But they don't do head coaches in there, only players, :-C

Thanks for the effort. ;-D Most of what I found was either on players or older coaches salary lists. :-/

Hmm.... yeah I found no list either, but I was surprised to find out Mike Holmgren is making 8 mil a year, with the next closest being Gibbs at 5.75, roughly 72% of Holmgren's salary.

Here's a quote from a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article from about 11 months ago.

It is difficult to determine where the contract would have put Cowher among the National Football League's top-paid coaches because such salary information is not made available by NFL teams or agents. Unlike player salaries, which are compiled by the NFL Players Association and shared among NFL teams, coaches salaries are closely guarded secrets...

Seattle's Mike Holmgren is believed to be the highest-paid coach in the NFL, making $7 million this season, $8 million in 2007 and $9 million in 2008. And Denver's Mike Shanahan, Washington's Joe Gibbs and Miami's Nick Saban are thought to make approximately $5 million annually, though such figures cannot be accurately substantiated.
