Kevin McDougal is most likely the back-up, given that Stith's knee will likely require surgery whether the Colts want to admit it or not. Neither player has a hook to hang his hat on in the NFL. IMHO you would be better off having a proven player of limited ability than one of these perennial bench warmers. A 3rd down receiving back like Larry Centers or Kevin Faulk would probably put up better numbers than these guys, and are at least guaranteed to see some action. No matter who is listed #2 on the Colts RB depth chart, if Edge goes down the coach will probably be flipping a coin to decide who to send in, and it may not be the guy you have wasting a roster spot. Have McDougal or Stith backing up James is a far cry from having Hambrick backing up E. Smith. Neither are proven players. They are barely hanging onto their roster spots, and you have far fewer roster spots to play with than the Colts.
