...apparently because it's now considered to be a reference to hookers in our all too politically correct times!!!
St. Nick claims company fired him for 'ho ho ho-ing' in department store Reuters Friday, December 14, 2007
A Santa in an Australian department store said yesterday he has been fired for saying "ho ho ho" and singing Christmas songs to children.
Employment company Westaff, which supplies stores with Santas, had asked them to say "ha ha ha" because the word "ho," which is U.S. slang for whore, could offend women.
In the latest incident, the Cairns Post newspaper said John Oakes, 70, was fired for saying "ho ho ho" and for singing the song Jingle Bells.

They're trying to kill the spirit of Christmas," said the entertainer who has been a Santa for three years.
A Westaff spokesman said Mr. Oakes had been dismissed due to his attitude, not for ho-ho-ho-ing, adding there was no ban on the term.
Fantasy Football: "Luck is where preparation meets opportunity"
I've heard a lot about the apparent banishment of the "Ho Ho Ho" phrase from many locations. This is absolutely ridiculous... These types of groups are actively searching for excuses to morph our traditions to make them politically correct. They do this so other religions won't be offended, yet they ignore the fact that they are taking away many of Christianity's beloved traditions. Oh, their hypocrisy is killing me.
Anyway, instead of taking away "Ho Ho Ho" from Santa Claus, why don't we teach people to use the original word properly? We shouldn't refrain from using words merely because they are given an alternate meaning due to slang. If someone were to turn my name (Karoz) into a popular insult, should I be forced to change my name and refrain from putting up any public displays which contain it?
