while it's a step in the possibly right direction, the emphasis is to be placed on ethanol and the automakers redesigning for better economy. And while passing new CAFE (hehe) requirements is great, that won't filter down for years to come.

I'm all for lessening national reliance on fossil fuels, but this seems like a hand-off and a delay.
