So some of my CDs have these circular scratches from the player and this one I'm listening to right now skips and sounds weird. What am I going to do about that? Can I get them out or am I stuck with a scratched CD?

hold the cd up to the light. if you can see through the cd or see the label of the cd, you're stuck... if not, it can most likely be fixed

I've read that toothpaste can be rubbed on and it'll fix the skipping, or at least enough that you can rip it onto your computer once. No idea if it works though.
I gave this a try in a nothing-to-lose sort of way, and while it did reduce the deep scratches, it also added some and didn't make the CD readable. ( used Crest )
Treat, I did read your post above; I can neither see thru the disc nor see the label (altho I noticed on a CDR type media, I can see the label thru the bottom regardless).
The disc in question was a limited edition one and there's no alternative other than eBay which means paying a premium.
Knapp I'm sorry to be intruding on your post; you asked a question I also had, so I'm sorta like your foster question son. Maybe you can finnagle alimony from boozie.
There's this stuff called Novus 1, 2, 3. Works wonders, honestly. I have a 3 year old that handles all his DVDs in a not so dainty manner so I use it alot to clean up the DVDs. Just google it and you'll find sites that sell it. Produced by a company called Micro Mark I believe.
