2008 blows

it's bad enough that i have to go into work at 6 am. i guess everyone needs tech support. but that's not a huge deal. anyway, i'm running behind a few minutes. my windshield is iced over. but i drive until the car heats up enough that the windshield doesn't ice up after a blast from the washer fluid.

the roads are empty so i'm flying down the highways. i make an exit from one highway to another and hit a pothole pretty hard. made my cd skip, so i thought, hmmm it would suck if my tire went flat from that. but i just kept cruising. i get a mile down the road at about 70 mph when the car starts to pull and make noise and smoke. ####. it did go flat. so i pull over and get out to inspect the damage. shredded.

rummage through the trunk. find a lugwrench, spare tire, and a jack. well i don't have a lever for the jack. #### me. so i have to call and wake up a drunk friend. they get there about 30 minutes later with a jack. get the old tire off, put the spare on. and i'm on my way.

luckily they followed me because my spare goes flat in about a quarter of a mile. so we pull over. pull the spare off and try the spare from their car. it doesn't fit. so i pull all my good stuff out of my car, lock it up and leave on the side of the road. they drive me to work, where i have to check them in through security. PIA. get dropped off and go in over an hour late.

question, where can i get a new tire on new years day?

Man, that really stinks. Just one of those days. I guess the only thing I can say is that 2008 can't possibly get worse... right... can it?

well, oviously it can get worse, this wasn't a huge deal. but it is a sucky way to start off the new year.

Sears dude? Sorry to hear it's off to a rough start for ya man. Hope it gets better. Hopefully you are getting the day like this out of the way early this year. The rest of us have it lingering over our heads knowing it's going to happen.

Hopefully there's service shops open today and you can take the wheel in to get a tire mounted. I hope it didn't damage the rim. Maybe places like Firestone or Tire Barn or *gag* wal-mart will be open today.

Thats lame man. To bad Les Schwab Tire doesn't reach that far east they're open 365 I think. Do you know anybody with AAA? If you do you may be able to get road side service to bring you a tire or at least get a tow to your home and handle the tire shiz in the morning....guess that would screw up another work day though huh?

yeah my dad took the rim in and got a tire put on it and put it on the car and brought it to me at work. pretty awesome dude, that guy.
