I'd have laughed at this comment, but the magazine said:

The furor begs rational analysis.

Rational, meaning black people are not the only ones to have been lynched, so it's really a non-issue from the get-go.

Rational, meaning her and Tiger are longtime friends, so why would anyone think she meant ill will towards him?

Rational, which is something Jackson and Sharpton are clearly not.

Seriously - what do they think they're going to accomplish with this? In what way would a golf magazine ever be able to bring about social change in our culture?

What a preposterous, ridiculous, ignorant thing to have done. It's just too stupid to even be offended at. It's that dumb.

I've never read Golfweek, maybe it's the National Enquirer of the Golfing industry. Who knows.

Golf Week probably just got the most free publicity of their 30-year life with this crap. Christ, I didn't even know what Golf Week was until this debacle and now their name is being printed everywhere and spoken by every radio host in the land with an opinion. So the guy got canned for signing off on the cover. Big deal. I'm sure he got one hell of a severance package to go along with it.

I almost wish the media would treat issues like this as television stations treat people who come onto the field and act like jackasses when the game is in session. The cameras don't give the person violating the rules the air time so they don't get the attention they want. Here we have magazine getting all the free publicity in the world for doing something wrong. And we all know that bad publicity is still good publicity when it comes right down to it.
