Must be nice to have enough money to leave a $1000 tip!

Matt Damon surprised staff at a local cafe last week when he left a $1000 tip on a $5 bill.

Matt had stopped in at the coffee shop near his home in Miami, Florida for a quick drink and refused to have his photo taken with the waiters - but his parting gift more than made up for it.

A member of staff explained: “It’s a nice place with a rich clientele, but this was something else.”

“Matt was really charming and friendly. He made everyone’s day.”

meh... If I had his money this would be an every day occurrence... I expect things like this. No, I demand it. The fans make these celebrities who they are... give back :-D

I think I was more taken aback by the fact that anybody would pay $5 for a cup of joe than the fact that he dropped a grand on the waitstaff!!

I like Matt as an actor. Very nice gesture.

I buy ground coffee and brew it into a thermos every day. Costs me about .30 a large cup of Dank brew. Then I can buy a 40 with what I saved every day. :-D
