Yeah it stinks, but it's cool. I probably only have to wear it for a few more weeks or so.
Last week i managed to find Oregon playing on ESPN. Now i am back to having to follow the games online, and see the highlights of the game later. It stinks. Not to mention they lost today.
Watching the post game press conference with coach Bellotti. He's saying that they had decided to take the red shirt off Thomas at half time but waited to pull the trigger till the 4th quarter, Bellotti said that was "a mistake". Ya think? We were only down 18 at the half. He's also saying that the QB position is now an open competition between Masoli, Harper, and Thomas. I imagine all three will continue to see game time with Masoli starting short term and Thomas becoming the #2. Long term I see Thomas taking the keys obviously.

WOW. If you decided to take it off then freaking play the guy. Bad coaching move that probably cost them that game

Yup and Bellotti said as much...really he threw himself under the bus, he didn't have to mention that the decision was made at the half. Either way...lame. He also commented on how you cannot win without balance. Well what the hell was with that 39 rush to 6 pass performance in the first half?!!? If you know you need to be balanced then why not at least try to be balanced? I realize their "passing QB" was knocked out of the game but still. They didn't even try with Harper, and once they did he was in such a hole and under so much pressure he couldn't do anything. Not only that when they did let him try to throw it was on 3rd and long plays. Why not let him dink and dunk a little?
Yeah seriously, what fried my noodle was that by telling him to run everytime doesnt instill a whole bunch of confidence your qb's passing ability! It was frustrating seeing our wr's just do short little jogs every play if they were going to run it and be obvious about it use 3-4 tightends... atleast they can provide run protection. We were just plain out out coached by Boise State they said they were going to knock out Masoli and they did.. they wanted to make us 1 dimentional. Yeah its sad that we had to un redshirt but its needed. Harper is rediculously talented... he should play another position. He is too talented not to be on the field... but not at qb. I couldnt believe we werent tossing the rock tho we have top wr's and dickson arguably in the top 10 te in the nation. Anyway those were my thoughts on the BSU game.
.... back to you Metroid and NFL Fan!
P.S. my gf is beating me by 15 going into tonight She still has T Jones left and i can choose either LT or sproles. Is LT going to play? Cuz Sproles is a big impact player and he has return yards and we have those. LT is LT but i need a 100% LT. So what does everyone think?

On a bright note... that TD run by Blount was sick. I was 20 rows up on the 20. Sure looked like we were gonna roll. That cheap shot that took out Masoli was all wrong, but for crying out loud, to have Harper in there for two quarters going 0-3 with two picks was worse.
Out coached? Ya think???
Yo, Met... thanks for the sig! GO DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats true the blount screen pass was sick i was on the goal line and it was on the opposite sideline... but only being 14 rows up it was pleanty of awesome too see. The JJ run was pretty nice as well altho that was in the exact opposite corner from where i am in section 15! There were a lot of positives about this game as well but they are overshadowed by a lot of crucial mistakes.

Not to take anything away from the Boise St. coaching job but actually I think we out coached ourselves. Our coaches were so afraid Harper would make mistakes passing early on that it took away any sort flow to our game. They made it impossible for us to come back or compete by continuing to do the same thing(run, run, run,) every time we got the ball on offense until the 4th quarter when they finally put in Thomas. Pull the trigger on him after the half and this could have been a totally different game. On defense we watched them own us with play action the whole game....make adjustments!!! Add to that the special teams mistakes, 2 missed field goals, missed point after, failed 2 point conversion on the opening TD(stupid thing to do in the first place) and the turnovers....It was a mess. Kudos to Boise St. for playing determined but lets not confuse our poor coaching for out coaching.
Another thing that pissed me off, how the hell our defense did come out more inspired and "angry" after watching the Boise St. players celebrating in front of their fans in our stadium at the end of the first half.
