You can say your Beavs are tied for 2nd with the Ducks if it makes you feel better but you know it's not really the case. The days of sharing a rank are over in the Pac-10 since we all play each other now. The Ducks beat the Beavs straight up...whenever you see the final rankings for this regular season in the future they'll look just like this... ;-)

#1 USC
#2 Oregon
#3 Oregon State
#4 Cal
#5 Arizona
Etc.

Unless you're at a game at Reeser where I'm sure they'll boast on the jumbotron about how they finished the regular season #2 in the Pac-10.

I'm not saying it to make myself feel better, it's pure and simple fact.

Under your example if Oregon State had tied with USC for the Pac-10 championship then USC would have had a #2 ranking in the Pac-10. There's not a sports publication in American that would have put a #2 Pac-10 label on USC.

The official rankings will look like this:

1. USC
T2. Oregon
T2. Oregon State
4. Cal

You can talk about head to head all you want; you know it doesn't mean a thing. Oh, we know Oregon will try to claim they finished alone in 2nd place in the Pac-10, but the release from the Pac-10 offices will look just how I outlined it above. If you finish with 2 losses then you finish with 2 losses. It doesn't get much more simple than that.

The odds in the game don't bode well for the Beavs. The sun bowl underdog is 11-1-1 against the spread in the last 13 games and Pitt is a 3 point dog. If the trend continues it most likely means a loss for the Beavs 8-o

Do they run the spread?

No?

I'm not too worried then. Chris Johnson will do just fine filling in for James on the Sweep and on Returns.

I agree man, I think the Beavs should win as well because I think they are the better team. I wouldn't bet the line though with the past trend is all I am saying ;-D
