Chris Harper is leaving too, which sucks. He looked pretty bad at QB, aside from the ASU game, but he had flashes of greatness at the wide out position and running option plays. I was looking forward to seeing him develop at Oregon.
More than that this is scary for Oregon in that we only have two real QB's on the depth chart in Masoli and Thomas. With both Roper and Harper leaving we are all of a sudden VERY thin at QB. Costa better get right this year and stay healthy.
Linkage...So Chris Harper will get his wish and leave Eugene. And while he says he loves playing football for Oregon, I'm not so sure. Lots of rumors for months. Got his shot to play quarterback and because his shoulder wasn't right, he was the wrong guy on that day for sure. Was...un...believable in the ASU game. Not televised so few saw it but he showed NFL ability that day. Unbelievable run after the catch and one other tremendous catch. True freshmen don't make plays like that unless, well, they have Harper's ability.

I can't say I blame him. He's won every game he's started for Oregon and he's a great talent. But Masoli is the guy. Problem is with the spread-O that they run... QB's get injured. Costa is good, but he's injury prone as well. And there's Darren Thomas who we'd LOVE to red-shirt, but with this developement, I do not see that happening.
