From: Garrett Embry booted from the Oregon program

Oregon wide receiver Garrett Embry has been dismissed from the team.

Oddly enough Oregon claims they dismissed Embry on Jan. 8, which would be before the alleged theft at a local frat house in which Embry and quarterback Jeremiah Masoli were named in the police report. There is no further information on the investigation of that case.

Oregon's James arrested, jailed on domestic violence charges
by Dave Miller
February 17, 02010

Maybe there’s something in the water in Eugene that is toxic to University of Oregon running backs.

Because for the second time in five months, a Ducks running back is in major trouble.

LaMichael James, the Pac-10's offensive freshman player of the year, was arrested on charges of alleged domestic violence and remained in jail as of Wednesday afternoon.

James was reportedly booked at 3 a.m. local time by Springfield, Ore., police Wednesday on charges of strangulation, assault and menacing.

The Texarkana, Texas, native became a starter for the Ducks after LaGarrette Blount was famously suspended for punching a Boise State player after a season-opening loss.

James’ season took off immediately, as he led the Pac-10 champions with 1,546 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. He averaged 118.9 yards a game and was named to the All-Pac-10 second team while finishing second in the conference in rushing yards to Stanford's Toby Gerhart.

SR WR Jamere Holland Dismissed

The Ducks are more than a bit thin at WR, which made the move a bit shocking. I suppose that when you curse out your coach on Facebook, then follow it up with a post saying you wish you could block white people from being your friend on Facebook, you're as good as gone.

What was looking to be another very promising season is looking doomed before it even starts.

This is what it was like being a Husker fan in the 1990s. We have always had a good team with coaches and players who were good people, but a series of actions by a few players destroyed our image. I refuse to believe that Kelly or Oregon is out of control. More like, there are several players who aren't getting the point about self-control, and it's really hurting the image of the team.

I feel for you Ducks fans. I've been there. It sucks. :-/

Looks like Oregon is giving Michigan State a run for their money in the thuggery department. Wonder if Kelly will follow Douchetonio's lead and kick off players that don't contribute while giving players who see the field a second chance.
