Meh. We all know college football does not equal pro football. An opportunity to play in the National Championship, let alone a bowl game, is the icing on the cake of the regular season. Oregon did something this year they have never done, and something that has never been done by any team in the Pac 10. Oregon never went 9-0, let alone 12-0. No team in the history of the Pac 10 has gone undefeated beating all 9 conference opponents before. And it will never happen again. It's an accomplishment worth noting, hence the shirt. Do I want my team to win the national championship? Absolutely. I'd love nothing more than to go buy a 13-O shirt on the 11th. But if they don't, this shirt, and this 12-0 perfect regular season will most certainly mean something to me and every other Oregon fan.
To add, considering that Oregon was thought to barely be able to compete for the Pac 10 title after the offseason they had, dismissing several players including their Heisman hopeful QB, I'll take this 12-0 season if it's all I get all the way to the bank and brag about it till I'm blue in the face. Like I said, it most certainly means something to us in Oregon.
