E-mail provider question

Changed jobs recently and need to find a new primary e-mail provider. Have a hotmail account, but it seems claustrophobic and ancient to me compared to AOL e-mail that I'm used to. Which free e-mail provider would you recommend in terms of a solid word processing, clean-looking e-mail system with decent spam blockers?

I've been using the same Hotmail account for ten years now. It's portable, it's free and they have good storage.

Verizon's email service has always served me well. Gets the job done, nothing fancy though. I think you have 256MB if space also(dunno if thats good or not)

256 is not that great. plus you have to have some sort of service through verizon to get their email, i'm sure.

I'm using gmail and I love it. It is easy to navigate, has all the features that I need, and just generally works really well. Also, you mentioned that you want a good spam blocker. Gmail has a pretty good spam blocker, but not only does it block it, it keeps it in a separate folder, so if something you want finds its way in there, it is easy to retrieve.

I like Yahoo. Gmail is nice, but I've never gotten fully used to it.

I use Yahoo! since I already have an account there for FF.

I have Hotmail and GMail accounts and GMail is infinitely better for me. No comparison. Hotmail is much slower and more difficult to use.

And GMail can export via POP3 (you can use Outlook, etc.)
