is it me or does the volume level on your TV somehow raise itself about 20% when a commercial comes on? God i get so sick of that. You have turn your TV up to hear the show you're watching, then when a commercial comes on it nearly blows your speakers out. Anyone else with me on this?
I cannot stand that crap. I work at a restaurant where we turn the volume on for big games. You can't imagine how friggin' annoying it is to have the Sharks game on, loud enough for people to hear it, only to have half the resturant squirm when an a commercial break comes along. Nothing says happy sports restaurant quite like eighty people looking for the manager to turn down the television every time the teams take a break in the action.

i've noticed the same thing. i've also noticed that CBS on Comcast HD is about 25% higher than other stations in general. i watch most shows on volume level 26 but CBS has to be about 20 or 22 otherwise it's too loud (i also have to have my volume on an even number )

Yes, this is a greatly annoying problem. They do this because they assume you're going to run off to the bathroom or fridge or to change laundry while the commercials are on, so they want you to hear their advertising two rooms away. There oughta be a law against that.
