It's sad to see Rob Morris leave, especially given the fact that he missed most of last season with a season-ending injury. Booger's importance to our Super Bowl run cannot be overlooked, either. Hopefully, they'll catch on with other teams...
There were some big names among the players released in the NFL on Wednesday, as teams continue to get ready for the open of free agency on Friday.
Among the big names released were Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Anthony "Booger" McFarland (failed physical), Colts linebacker Rob Morris (failed physical), Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive ends Greg Spires and Kevin Carter and Tennessee Titans receiver David Givens.
McFarland, who was a key cog in the Colts' Super Bowl run in 2006, missed last season with a knee injury. In his absence, several young players emerged to the point where the Colts didn't really miss him.
Some other veterans released Wednesday were Baltimore Ravens running back Mike Anderson and New Orleans Saints kicker Olindo Mare (failed physical).
